I’ve assembled an explosive compilation with the best of modern STONER, which features the best songs released in the last 12 months. Stoner veterans such as Mastodon, John Garcia and Sasquatch are accompanied by more recent musical realities like All Them Witches and As They Come. You’ll find here experimental and psychedelic tracks tracks played by Cairo Knife Fight and Kadavar together with more conventional stoner pieces from Brant Bjork and Cortez.

Progressive Rock (or Art Rock as many say) is a musical genre that finds itself in a delicate balance between technical manierism and innovation. That is why there are only very few groups today which are able to produce albums worthy of being appreciated and listened to. Many musicians, in fact, release albums which result absolutely lacking of soul and passion, maybe too much focused on the technical aspect or otherwise looking for extreme innovation but losing sight of the enjoyability of the music.

After having listened and reviewed many rock albums in 2017, I could collect and put together a group of excellent songs from bands who succeeded where many others failed: these are real artists of rock music which managed to master an impressive compositional technique whilst keeping intact the energy and passion of their approach.

Only the best rock bands, only the best and newest songs. This is YELLOW EYES, the place where to get an healthy and vigorous dose of progressive rock.
